What you need before you pay

Have your eleven-digit prepaid meter number ready. It should match AEDC (Abuja Electricity Distribution Company) supply — if you are unsure, confirm with an old electricity bill or SMS from AEDC.

Keep your phone unlocked if you forward tokens via SMS; screenshots help customers load tokens manually if SMS delays.

Steps on VendPower

Sign in to VendPower and ensure your wallet has enough balance for the token amount plus fees.

Open Electricity, select AEDC (or the AEDC biller configured on your account), choose prepaid, and enter the meter number.

Run meter validation so you can confirm customer details before money moves.

Enter amount within allowed limits, complete payment, then watch transaction status until it shows success with a token.

Copy or screenshot the token for the customer and advise them to enter it on the Customer Interface Unit (CIU) promptly.

If something goes wrong

Processing means the provider has not finished — use requery from transaction history rather than paying twice.

Failed validation usually means wrong disco or meter type — double-check digits and prepaid vs postpaid selection.
