How to recharge your Eko Electric (EKEDC) prepaid meter

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) covers Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland (parts), Ikorodu, and surrounding areas — distinct from Ikeja Electric (IKEDC), which serves much of the rest of Lagos and Ogun. Buying the wrong disco's token wastes your payment and delays your light, so check your last bill or meter sticker before vending if you're unsure.

Your 11 or 13-digit meter number is printed on the meter itself and usually on previous bills. Have it ready, since validation pulls up the customer name tied to that meter — confirm the name matches before you pay.

Select Electricity, choose EKEDC as your disco, enter the meter number, and let validation run. Once the customer name displays correctly, pick an amount and pay from your wallet.

EKEDC tokens are typically a 20-digit code. Enter it on your meter's keypad exactly as shown, confirm with the # key where applicable, and wait for the meter to display a successful load message.

Double-check for transposed digits before assuming an error — a single wrong digit is the most common cause of a rejected token. If it still fails after a careful re-entry, don't repurchase immediately; use requery on your dashboard to confirm the original transaction status first, since duplicate purchases on a failed token are avoidable.
